bees and cherry trees

I just realized that if I wait a few more days to post, there will only be one post for June 2008! While this isn't a crime or anything, I thought I would write at least one more post for this month, even if I'm not particularly inspired. The computer, for today at least, is working.

So here is a photo I took in early June, on the farm of a friend of ours who is also a beekeeper. This is a cherry tree in full bloom, with some blue beehives in the background. Lucky bees!

There have been a number of things going on this June that I could write about, and that perhaps I will write about, come July. For one thing, my elderly neighbour, Jimmy, who I used to go visit and have tea with, passed away a few weeks ago. As well, I was in a parade with my brother Mat, dressed up as though it was 100 years ago, for our village's 100th birthday. There has also been gardening happening, and lots of bike rides. I'm not writing much this month partly because of the computer woes I detailed in my last post, and partly because there's a lot of other things going on. But hopefully, once my laptop arrives I'll be able to write more, and be able to do it other places besides this crowded bedroom/office! Like, the couch or the dining room table, for instance. Or even — dare I dream? — outside!

Anyway, I'm definitely thankful for the patience that you, my readers, exhibit with me. When was the last time you saw a beehive?
