we interrupt this broadcast to wish you happy valentine's day...

May your loved one(s) enjoy pancakes.

Also, used in the making of this photo are: Cape Breton blueberries, raspberries, maple syrup, butter, and eggs. The cornmeal and flour were purchased through a locally-run, fair-trade and organic food supplier. And there is no excuse for buying the olive oil from Superstore.

And in the spirit of the holiday, three sites to check out if you're keen:

Attachment Research Web: This is part of Heriot Watt University, in Scotland. Jian Ghomeshi, host of CBC's radio show Q, interviewed the head of the studies, Dr. Bjarne M. Holmes, about the link between watching romantic comedies, and having unrealistic expectations of real-life relationships. (Wait... there's a LINK there?!?!) You can take part in their 24-week study, too, if you have the time and the interest. And for your trouble they enter you in a draw for five hundred UK pounds!

Make Love Not Porn: Another Q tip. (Oh. That's a bad pun, but I think I'm going to leave it.) Anyway. It's text only, no visuals, but it compares the porn standards of sex with real-life sex. Entertaining!

Museum of Broken Relationships: One more link discovered from listening to Q. This is a travelling exhibit where people can donate artifacts from their broken relationships. I like the idea! What would you donate?

Now I'm off to my own Valentine's Day-weekend! Enjoy yours. And if nothing else, make heart-shaped pancakes.
