ice star

We bought a mold of an star not long ago. We fill it with water, leave it outside to freeze, and after that happens, we turn the mold upside down and produce an ice star. Then we sit it outside on the deck until it melts.

I have a lot of fun taking pictures of the ice stars. They're really beautiful, and the light comes through them in delicate ways, yet it's a slab of ice. Until winter is over, there will be more ice stars, and I'll be taking pictures of them.

Needless to say, I'm having a lot of fun with my new digital camera.
