Well, well, well. I'm back in the old Freddy-town, back in my bedroom in my apartment on Kings College Road, (the leafy old street), back with old friends, back back back. But, as cheesy as this might sound, moving forward as well. Change is in the air, there's a sense among some of us that we're stepping a little further into adulthood, that this whole University thing is manageable now, that life is opening up in interesting ways.
For example, I am now the proud owner of my first set of real, honest to goodness, new sheets! They are in "Ecru", I bought them from Zellars, and now that they have been washed and dried they are on my bed. It's the little things, really, that make you feel grown-up. It's not so much having money or not having it, as spending it on things that contribute to a more secure feeling, to a house, or to your own happiness as you define it.
School starts Thursday. Til then, I'm acting like a mouse in a nest, busily re-arranging the hay and bits of wood and string til they're just right. Actually, what does a mouse in a nest do? I don't know, I've never observed one. Huh. Well, you understand what I mean.
It's been a whirlwind summer, I don't know where it went, but I have to accept that it's gone, has left some good lessons and some even better memories, and will turn into fall, for better or for worse.
