Rabi: "I took the camera out and knealt down in the snow to take pictures along its surface, low and stretching out like the moonscape or a great mountain glacier. I'm almost certain they won't come out, dark as it was, but sometimes most of the point is just to see the world through a viewfinder so the edges fall away and all you see is what's right in front of you, waiting."

How many shots have I taken to learn this? How many blurred pictures of lots of colored lights and not much else? But she's so right, and I keep doing it, and sometimes the mess-ups are interesting, and sometimes I like them more than how I imagined they would turn out.
